This Quranic verse reminds us of our deep connection to the earth — we are created from it, nourished by it, and destined to return to it. Soil is not just dirt; it’s a precious, life-sustaining resource that provides food, water, and clean air.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, we often overlook the importance of soil. Activities like industrial farming, deforestation, and urban expansion harm the earth’s health, putting our future at risk. When soil suffers, so does our food security, water supply, and air quality.
To protect our future, it’s crucial that we recognise soil as irreplaceable. By adopting sustainable practices like regenerative agriculture and policies that prioritise soil conservation, we can preserve this vital resource for generations to come.
